Jay Charles Goodgal
Mr. Goodgal has been involved in the transportation/shipping and commodity industries for 30+ years. Mr. Goodgal is the Managing Member of Castalia Advisors LLC, a firm focused on the transportation and commodity sectors. At peak assets in 2008, Castalia Advisors and affiliates managed approximately US$ 400 million focusing on publicly quoted equities and shipping derivatives (FFAs).
In 1992, Mr. Goodgal, in partnership with Peter G. Stokes (Formerly, a Lazard Senior Adviser), launched the first shipping hedge fund, Castalia Offshore Partners Limited (COPL). In 1996, COPL launched the first FFA fund, Excalibur Global Investments Limited. Mr. Goodgal is Managing Partner of Castalia Partners Limited.
Mr. Goodgal is Vice Chairman of Greenshields Agri Holdings plc (Executive Director – Responsible for Capital Raising and Strategy). Greenshields Agri is an agricultural supply chain company involved in land ownership, handling & storage, renewables, merchandising and trading.
Mr. Goodgal received a M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (Booth School) in 1979 and a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University in 1977.
